明治時代から140年以上、5代に渡り江戸小紋を染めてきた「富田染工芸」。江戸時代には神田川から隅田川にかけて、多くの染工房が着物などを製造していました。江戸小紋は、手彫りの「伊勢型紙」を使って生地に柄を染め抜く技法。富田染工芸には、開業当初から使われてきた伊勢型紙が約12万あり、多様な模様の商品を生み出します。「小紋チーフ」も、そんな伊勢型紙から生み出された、「江戸の粋」が感じられる逸品。
