“Kinkon” is one of the representing brand sake of the Toshimaya Shuzou, a sake brewery that has over 400 years of history. Kinkon was born in 1894 and was named to celebrate Emperor Meiji’s 25th wedding anniversary in the year - that started the custom of wedding anniversary in Japan. Toshimaya is known for spreading the tradition of the “Kagami biraki” ritual- breaking open sake barrels with wooden mallets at celebratory events. This has made Kinkon famous for a celebratory drink that brings happiness.
