Facility Guide

This hotel is a five-minute drive from the airport and is just as convenient for sightseeing as it is for fishing, diving, and business. With the lush green of Mt. Hachijo-Fuji behind you, gaze out over the clear “Hachijo Blue” ocean that stretches as far as the eye can see. The hillside location offers soothing views of the Pacific Ocean and star-filled sky.

Breakfast is included with your stay, and the hotel accommodates wheelchair users by moving the bed in the guest room, adjusting the height of the mirror, and providing ramp access to the breakfast buffet and an alternative stair-free route to the public bath.

Review from a wheelchair user who stayed at the hotel

I flew to Hachijo Island from Haneda Airport. With help from the airline, I was able to fly without any worries and enjoyed a comfortable flight of just a little under an hour. I rented a car to go to the hotel. The rental car company’s airport shuttle had two steps to navigate, but I was able to get in with help from my traveling companion. Wheelchair users who may have difficulty boarding the shuttle are encouraged to use an accessible taxi. There is wheelchair-accessible parking near the entrance. Since there’s also a ramp that eliminates steps in the entrance, I was able to easily enter the hotel. After entering from the door, I was met with a spacious atmosphere, and the ocean visible from the large windows creates the feeling of being in a resort. The staff helped me and check-in went smoothly.

Since the floor is marble, it was also easy to move the wheelchair along the passage from the elevator to the Accessible Room. As soon as I opened the door using the keypad, I encountered a slope of about 6°, but there are handrails installed on both sides, so it wasn’t a problem. I was able to easily maneuver the wheelchair inside the guest room, and the bed was also at a height that made it easy to get into. The bottom of the window and bed height is the same, so when I laid on my side the expansive view right before my eyes was really exhilarating. Inside the closet, the hangers are set at a height that makes it easy for people in wheelchairs to use, so it was handy.

The bath and toilet are separate and placed on either side of the room. If you’re staying with someone, that helps to keep one another’s privacy. The bath is a roll-in shower without a bathtub. The toilet has a lid that automatically opens and closes, so it was convenient.
