Review from a wheelchair user who stayed at the hotel

The hotel can be reached in seven minutes on foot via a level sidewalk on a busy street from the south exit of JR Tachikawa Station, which provides convenient transportation services since it’s in the central Tama area. I went to the hotel by car and used the level wheelchair-accessible parking spot behind the hotel instead of the general multistory parking garage. The hotel’s heavy back door has to be pushed open to get in, but there’s an intercom there, and when I used it to call staff they immediately came and opened the door for me, so it’s not a concern.

The front desk is 110 cm in height and can’t be used by someone in a wheelchair, but staff stood next to me and carried out the check-in process for me. The staff provided assistance until I reached the guest room and even helped me change the placement of the chairs and tables, so I was really appreciative. It was the barrier-free Deluxe Twin Room with a premium feel and plenty of space. The chairs are designed for convenience when standing up, and there were also convenient handrails for moving from the wheelchair to the bed. The round table in the sitting area can readily be moved and was easy to use for people in wheelchairs who are often sitting. The bath and toilet are a modular unit, but there’s lots of room inside and a handrail stretching straight from the toilet to the far area of the bath. In the bath, there are many handrails to accommodate diverse people. The seat on the left side of the bathtub can also be used as a bath board and is handy when getting in the bathtub. There’s also a telephone installed in case of emergency, so it feels like the hotel has given thought to safety.

The breakfast provided at All Day Dining SHATOU is a buffet featuring over 40 different Japanese and Western-style foods, which includes dishes prepared with local ingredients. This cozy hotel with 100 guest rooms has a premium feel and kind staff.
