Review from a wheelchair user who stayed at the hotel

The hotel is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from the A1 Exit of Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express line. This exit has an elevator that takes you to ground level. The hotel is located in the heart of Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most popular tourist areas. It is close to Senso-ji Temple. This is a very convenient location to explore Nakamise Street, try the food and drinks, and enjoy the bustling atmosphere of Asakusa to the fullest.

Entering the hotel in a wheelchair was a breeze, and I was even more excited at check-in when the staff explained the hotel’s equipment in detail. The amenity bar in the lobby was difficult to see from my wheelchair, but the staff read out the labels and explained what was available to me. I was glad that the front desk staff asked if there was anything they could do to help me.

The Universal Twin Room was a spacious 29㎡ with two beds and enough room to turn around in my electric wheelchair. The desk was wide and easy to use for working, and could easily accommodate my wheelchair underneath. Although the bath and toilet were located in the same room, the room was spacious, and the non-slip floor felt safe. The grab bar next to the toilet was movable. It was helpful to be able to flip it up when using the sink. The showerhead in the bathtub can reach the sink, so it is possible to wash your hair in the sink.

If you leave the hotel through the front entrance, turn left, and go straight, you will reach an elevator that will take you up to the main hall of Senso-ji Temple. I enjoyed exploring the Asakusa area, including Nakamise Street and the Kaminari-mon Gate. With so many restaurants nearby, eating out for dinner was also very convenient. The hotel breakfast is served at ROYAL Mirai Dining on the first floor. It is better to check when the restaurant gets crowded and avoid eating breakfast at those times.
